History of Bridgestone tyres

Founded in 1931, and named after the English translation of founder Shojiro Ishibashi's surname, Bridgestone has become a household name in the tyre world. Japan's biggest tyre manufacturer, in 1988 the company bought the American tyre producer Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, resulting in Bridgestone becoming one of the biggest tyre and rubber companies in the world.

Today, Bridgestone have developed a global team dedicated to manufacturing tyres of the highest quality, service and technology. They produce a wide range of tyres for cars, motorcycles, trucks and agricultural vehicles. Their tyres are used as original equipment for many big name car manufacturers including Mercedes, Porsche, Toyota and BMW.

Three elements define Bridgestone; safety, comfort and eco-friendliness and every tyre produced is subjected to vigorous testing to ensure it is to the highest and safest standard possible.
