History of Pirelli car tyres

Pirelli are among the largest and most recognised tyre companies in the world; designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing tyres for motorcycles, motor vehicles and industrial vehicles.

Founded in 1872, they are the leader in premium tyres, and are currently the only manufacturer for Formula 1 for the 2014-2016 championship seasons. Their history in the motor racing world spans right back to the early 1900s.

Why choose Pirelli car tyres?

With a presence in over 160 countries, 22 manufacturing facilities and 38,000 employees, Pirelli are a global company supplying tyres of the highest quality throughout the world.

In a constant strive to improve the quality, performance, safety and environmental impact of their tyres, Pirelli invests around 3% of revenues each year on research and development; one of the highest levels of research investment in the tyre industry.

Over 100 years' experience have enabled the Italian company to produce tyres which provide the maximum levels of security, longevity and comfort. Each Pirelli tyre responds to the road and the driver; resulting in improved vehicle performance and a smooth, comfortable ride. They are also leading manufacturers of Run Flat tyres, providing greater control and mobility in the event of a puncture, even in very wet road conditions.
